Woven wire screens

Applicability:

Woven wire screens are used for screening all types of non-metallic materials of fractions of up to 150 mm. Made from wire or rod, they have large area in clear and are the ideal solution for the most effective screening to achieve the maximize performance of an equipment.

Production:

These screens are made from high-quality spring steel. Depending on the type of screen, the wire undergoes preliminary straightening and grooving, and then braided with transverse rods. After that, the screens are crimped with hooks if necessary.

Features:

Woven wire screens are used for separating bulk materials such as sand, crushed stone, gravel, ore, coal, mineral fertilizers, seeds and other materials into fractions (classes). High efficiency is the main feature of these screens.

A standard square mesh in special screening conditions for reduction of the flakiness of finished products can be replaced by a rectangular mesh.

In a special design, screens can be made from high-quality stainless steel wire. Due to absence of corrosion under adverse conditions, these screens can be used to significantly reduce the effect of sticking.

Main advantages of woven wire screens produced by SPG Russia LTD.:

  • use of Swedish manufacturing technology;
  • a wide range of mesh sizes;
  • one can select the optimum thickness and wire type for various screening conditions;
  • complex grooving of the screening mat (double crepe).

The Swedish technology used enables the company to produce woven wire screens with a performance that exceeds the service life of screens manufactured by all the known producers in Russia.

The screens are made according to the sizes specified by the customer and do not require redesign during installation on a screening machine.

A wide range of mesh sizes allows bulk materials to be separated with high accuracy.

For production of wire screens, various kinds of wire produced in Russia, Sweden and Germany are used: wire made of carbon steel in accordance with TU 14-4-1566-89, with 1-8 mm in diameter, steel spring stainless wire, as well as a spring wire, manufactured according to European standards – carbon patented under DIN 17223, in accordance with EN 10 270 with 6-13 mm in diameter.

Before assembling, the wire screen undergoes preliminary straightening and crimping. In this case, the complex crimping allows achieving high accuracy of the mesh size, its stability, and provides additional density of the screening mat, which, in turn, further increases the service life of the screens.

Screens with hooks (seams) are increasingly being used for screen tensioning. This method of installation of screens fully utilises the steel wire resource: The screen is not deformed because during the fastening by wedge method, there are no collisions with supports and the screen works only on the wear from interaction with the material passing through it.

Alteration of many local screens for screens with hook fasteners has become a common phenomenon. Our company’s service engineers are always ready to give advice on these alterations and carry out the necessary re-equipment of screens as soon as possible.
